SEB/STAGE Graduate Assistant

Position Overview:

The SEB/STAGE Graduate Assistant will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting the Student
Entertainment Board and STAGE Student Theatre within the Center for Student Organizations and
Leadership. This position encompasses budget management, event planning and execution, and various
administrative tasks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEB and STAGE events. Duties are
varied and can be tailored to the applicant. Applicant must be adaptable, responsible, and able to work
with undergraduate students in a support role.

Key Responsibilities:

60% SEB Management:

  • Sign purchase requests and track purchasing through our internal budget
  • Attend SEB meetings as needed, including weekly executive meetings
  • Attend and assist at a variety of events, must be able to work evenings and weekends

20% STAGE Management:

  • Sign purchase requests and track purchasing through our internal budget system
  • Attend STAGE meeting as needed
  • Be available to answer questions/seek answers on behalf of STAGE regarding space rental,
    purchasing, etc.

20% Administrative Tasks:

  • Review and manage budgets
  • Streamline office processes to improve efficiency
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment
  • Oversee staff scheduling and tabling events
  • Inventory and manage excess supplies
  • Train student staff on office processes and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role reports directly to the SEB and STAGE Advisor and works closely with Student
Engagement Services staff. They would co‐manage a student staff of 8 people (SEB) and 5‐6
executive students (STAGE), so having strong communication, organization, and interpersonal
skills is a must.

Work Schedule:

This role requires a commitment of 20 scheduled hours per week during the school year (office
located in the Compton Union Building) as well as some weekend, evening, and specified hours
during school breaks.

Hours can be flexible and we can work with your schedule to make it fit best. Some events are
required, and you will be expected to make yourself available at those times.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $2,318.50 – 2,561.00 per month based on the position’s location and the successful applicant's educational experience and level

 Per Graduate School policy, employment eligibility for this position is contingent upon the following requirements:

  • Remaining enrolled full time (a minimum of 10 credits) during the period of the appointment
  • Maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA during the period of the appointment
  • Progress toward degree remains satisfactory as determined by the academic home department
  • Meeting all conditions of employment and training requirements
  • Maintaining satisfactory progress in fulfilling assistantship service requirements and duties
  • Availability of funds

Tuition Waiver and Mandatory Fees

Resident and non-resident (if applicable) tuition waiver of the operating fees, and student health insurance plan premiums as indicated.  ASEs are required to pay additional assessed fees. Please see the Tuition and fee rates website for current fees.
